other correspondence the same day suggests Nicholson considers Clark, Lovering and Henderson to be "contracting carpenters who have each engaged to build for us ten or twelve houses"

1795/08/17: John Nicholson to W. Lovering Architect.

"Understand by letter from Cranch, 23 July last you have remorsed (?) old contract. WIll now blt houses for us at salary of $1500 per annum. Contract runs for 18 months from its date. Greenleaf now out of picture. Henderson under contract for 6 houses on Sp. 74 (the six bldgs) at a certain price and a certain stile printed out by a deser annexed to the contract(WL to make sure H. stays on track)

more on Clark... you (WL) have erectedf seven houses three stories high a sq 503 & 503 all of which may soon be finished.

Mr Cranch tells us that CLark had built eight three story houses on square 503 and 504 which are almost finished. Wheat row looks to be on sq 503.
